Maggie Tang, a certified Chakra sound healing practitioner, will bring various chimes and gongs to bathe us in sounds that will help us relax and focus as we gather in the park to read. We'll relax in the natural beauty of one of Seattle's most iconic parks overlooking the sound. We'll come together at the end for Seattle Book Club's signature community discussion to talk about what we're reading, lead by Sam of SBC.
This event is the perfect way to wrap up your week by enjoying the outdoors on a June evening. Sound healing can help your mind focus on reading and relax you for your night.
What is sound healing? Sound healing is an ancient healing practice for well being that uses vibrational sounds to relax the nervous system (also called a sound bath). It is a powerful cognitive tool that directly alters brainwave activity; it can sharpen focus and promote relaxation (perfect for reading!). All you will need to bring is a yoga mat (or similar) and anything else that makes you comfortable to read in the park! Please wear layers and/or bring a blanket. And of course, bring a book to read!

**This event is outdoors and rain or shine, except in the event of exceptionally bad weather (heavy rain or storm). If we cancel, you will be refunded your full ticket price or have the option to transfer your ticket to the July 10th Sound Healing event.
