Maggie Tang, a certified Chakra sound healing practitioner, will bring various chimes and gongs to bathe us in sounds that will help us relax and focus as we gather to read. We'll relax in the cozy studio at Woven, using yoga props and blankets to get comfortable with our books. After an hour to read, we'll come together at the end for Seattle Book Club's signature community discussion to talk about what we're reading, lead by Sam of SBC.
This event is the perfect way to wrap up your week and prepare for a relaxing weekend. Sound healing can help your mind focus on reading and prep you for sleep. We encourage whatever mix of reading and closing your eyes to enjoy the sound bath feels right for you!
What is sound healing? Sound healing is an ancient healing practice for well being that uses vibrational sounds to relax the nervous system (also called a sound bath). It is a powerful cognitive tool that directly alters brainwave activity; it can sharpen focus and promote relaxation (perfect for reading!). You bring your own yoga mat, or borrow one from the studio
